| ... live at gertens in inver grove heights, and with ideas. >> the weather has turned around, and night-time temperatures, are very, very favorable now, for planting outdoors. so it's a ready, set, let's plant. let's take a look, and you mentioned a bit earlier, about the new plants that are out, and some of those are right here on this table, let's start with caliber plants, like a mini petunia, this is brand new, the one we're looking at, and it's called the kolberry punch it, has the outside color. and right next door to that one, is the blackberry punch, as well, very, very fun names, almost cool and refreshing, exciting names, and these are brand new on the market this year. and also, new, are some, some black velvet petunias, this one black velvet, and actually, quite nice, and there is one down low down here on the ground, and called phantom, and are ready, and so is he, he's containers this morning, and we us to plant our flower garden guy, dale k. is helping what are some of those? to new flowers on the market. from old standbys like petunias from. hundreds of flowers to choose flowers this spring, you have it comes time to do planting of >> and it's 8:32 now, and when >> ok. over to you. so just, use caution today but congestion but workers out there that's, that's, also, a brand new petunia, and quite nice, and mixed with other chartreuse greens, yellows and whites, and compliment any planter or hanging basket, and one that's new, i'm going to pick this one, that's called raspberry blast petunia, out last year, but really, made an impact in container baskets, and also, hanging baskets, absolutely trails quite nicely. and now, as far as other plants, which will highlight and we'll steal the show, check out this grass, alix, it's called mexican feather grass, and really it's funky. it's like, like a hair whipping back and forth, it's very light, blades of grass, and really will add some interest to, to a planner, and also, the brazilian red hots, will do well in sun and shade, and we'll really stand out and make a container or a garden pop. and if you like romping around in the garden at night, this right here, you could see the flower, opens up at dusk, and blooms all through the evening, that's the flower, it's closed, of course, right now, and if you like to be outside entertaining at night and need a bit of color, it will do that for you, and this is a new, a new fireworks grass from monrovia growers, and that's quite new, and as is this right here, this is a wonderful new variety, it's a pink upright planter, and also, these wonderful plants right here, that one is cherry sunrise, and that's also, also will attract the hummingbirds as will this wonderful fragrant heel trop. if you are looking for a great geranium for your planters, this red is, is outstanding and probably one of my most favorite geraniums of all-time. matches very well with its green foliage, if you are looking for upright color in your planters, these are standout plants. they are mixed into a planter right here, and all those will give you wonderful height, and if you add a finial, or kind of a tremendously us a, they will keep growing and growing up that trellis all summer long, and the garden centers and shops all over the metro, are packed full of all the wonderful plants, so it's a great day and a great weekend to get outside and plant. ... |
